Mad Hatter's Tea Party @ Bea's of Bloomsbury, Theobald's Road

The last time I went to a Mad Hatter's tea party in 2010, it consisted of hot&cold pineapple lollies, the White Rabbit's muffin shaped in his watch and the Queen of Hearts' cake.

This Mad Hatter's party was slightly different - best part was...it was an all-you-can-eat dining experience!
I leap at the joy of normal buffets. Imagine having a dessert buffet laid in front of me.

I walked into Bea's with the strong waft of freshly baked cupcakes lingering in the air. Already, my tummy was rumbling and I was having a hard time trying to conceal it (as well as my excitement)

The first thing that caught my eye was the sparkly orange & ginger cakes on the table!
A few of us were wondering if the sparkles were actually edible or just picked up from a WH Smith nearby. Nothing to beautify a cake than....sparkly glitter!

The invitation said it was optional (and more fun!) to come dressed up as an Alice in Wonderland character. However, how typical of us Asians not to bother. The women beside us had a necklace and bracelet made out of cards! As you can see, the setting really worked, felt like the Mad Hatter was going to pop up at the head of the table any minute!
But yes, a whole hoard of deliciously fattening glucose-y stuff laid out in front of us. Up for grabs!

A plate of savories just in case the sugar became too empowering :p I did enjoy the Salami and Pepper one though.

The Baileys fruit truffle!

On the top, vanilla macaroons and toffee brownies! On the second platter, a chocolate cupcake with chocolate meringue! On the bottom, the pink ones had to be pink marshmallows and vanilla meringues.

Now this,....this dark chocolate fudge cupcake was up for grabs!
Had to the best of the lot.
Bea's wins this over Lola's and Humingbird hands down.

I have to admit, the best part of the night was having so much leftovers on the table that we were each given a white take-home box which we could fill with as much desserts as we possibly could! As you can see, mine was filled to the brim and every crumb and bit was finished within 2 days.
And the cupcake on the lower left had to be the best carrot cake cupcake I've ever tasted.

Prices run at GBP 25.00 per head (for all you can eat! That's a steal !) However, the mad hatter's tea party is seasonal and doesn't run on a regular basis. Best to Google search it and book your spot for the next one!

Rounding up the stalls at Chun Heong

These are the 2 remaining types of noodles which I tried at Kedai Chun Heong in Bangsar, thus making this the 3rd visit to the coffeeshop.

Curry mee with chicken, fish balls and sotong. I opted not to include cockles into my bowl of mee because it isn't on my favourite list of food but this is very good lemak curry soup. One of the best curry laksa in Klang Valley.

I saw many people having the pork ball noodles so I decided to order one too. Not too bad . The dried hor fun wasn't salty enough.
